Privacy policy

In short

flimmer has no accounts, no ads, no analytics and no tracking. Your TV service details stay on your devices and in your own iCloud. The only thing we receive is a short technical report when the app hits an error or crashes, and we delete those after seven days.

Who is responsible

Your TV service details

The server address, username, password or playlist link you enter are stored on your device in the Apple Keychain. If you use iCloud Keychain, Apple syncs them to your other devices. They are never sent to us.

flimmer connects directly from your device to your TV service to fetch channels, the programme guide, images and video. That service receives your login and your IP address as part of normal use, and its own privacy policy applies to it. lightroad AB is not involved in that connection and cannot see it.

Favourites, settings and progress

Favourites, settings and where you stopped watching are stored on your device and, if you use iCloud, synced between your devices through your own iCloud account. Apple stores this data; we cannot read it.

Error and crash reports

When flimmer hits an error or crashes, it sends a short report to a server run by lightroad AB in Sweden, so we can find and fix the fault. A report contains:

  • the error message and the app’s log lines around it
  • the app version, the device model and the system version
  • a random ID created when the app was installed, so reports from one install can be grouped

Reports do not include your name, your Apple Account or your device’s name. An error message can include the address of the stream that failed, which for some TV services contains your username. Our server also sees your IP address when a report arrives. Reports are deleted after seven days.

The legal basis is our legitimate interest in keeping the app working (GDPR Article 6(1)(f)).

What we don’t do

  • No user accounts with us, and no sign-in.
  • No advertising, analytics or tracking SDKs, and no tracking across apps or websites.
  • We never sell or share your data.
  • We don’t know which channels or titles you watch.

This website

lightroad.se sets no cookies and uses no analytics. It is hosted by Cloudflare, which processes visitors’ IP addresses to deliver the pages and protect against abuse.

Your rights

You can ask us for access to, correction of or deletion of personal data we hold about you, and object to our processing. Because reports carry only a random ID, include the ID or the time of the error so we can find it. Email hello@lightroad.se. Deleting flimmer removes its data from your device; data in iCloud can be removed in your device’s iCloud settings.

You can also complain to the Swedish Authority for Privacy Protection (IMY).

Children

flimmer is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect data from them.

If this policy changes, we update this page and the date at the top.
